Member: 1958 to 1983
Joe was a member of the Metuchen Fire Department for 25 years and moved to Florida after retiring as vice president of Con-lux Coatings in 1987. He was an innovator and a true leader in the fire service. Even though he no longer resided in New Jersey, Joe did return on several occasions for installation dinners and to visit friends.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe’s wife Irene of 67 years and the rest of his family. He will be sorely missed.

The Metuchen Fire Department is an "All Volunteer" organization made up of your neighbors and friends. They are people that have dedicated themselves to serving our community and ensuring that when someone needs help, the call is answered. Intensive training, modern equipment and 129 years of tradition come together to provide the best protection possible, allowing all our families to sleep soundly at night.

Our website is managed through the company YourFirstDue.com which specializes in Fire and EMS websites. They provide “stock” images and generic page formats to allow customers to quickly get a site up and running. As such, there are limitations to what can be done.
We have chosen to customize this site and to create pages from scratch. The menu on the left consists of two different entries. Numbered pages on the top are our custom creations and listed in the order we believe you should view them. The pages listed alphabetically on the bottom are “stock”. Some of the stock pages may appear blank but they are required as part of the formatting process. It may not be perfect but we think it gets the job done.
All funding for this website comes from donations. There are NO tax dollars associated with its hosting or maintenance.
